The objective of this review is to generate information about the current status contagious caprine pleuropneumonia (CCPP) which recognized as highly infectious, and devastating disease goats for 140 years. However, reports indicated that sheep can be affected. CCPP caused by Mycoplasma capricolum subspecies capripneumoniae (Mccp) severe dramatic mycoplasmas, challenging isolate properly identify. Coughing, respiratory distress very high morbidity mortality are main clinical signs described disease. Transmission occurs through aerosol while animals in nearby contact. There a number approaches rapid detection identification Mccp based on PCR. In Africa, Asia Middle East reach 100% causes huge economic loss. Presence Ethiopia reported 1983 later confirmed from an outbreak 1990 Ogaden, Eastern Ethiopia.
